Abeking Yachts
are created in Lemwerder, Germany, just southwest of Bremen. Georg Abeking and Henry Rasmussen founded the Lemwerder shipyard in 1907 and have produced over 6,400 sailing vessels since that time. Abeking & Rasmussen feature environmentally friendly workshops that contain high-performance production facilities for boat construction. Abeking & Rasmussen yachts are built to a specification of 98 feet in length minimum, are incorporating SWATH ship technology for space and comfort, and use varied materials: wood, aluminum,
steel, or fiberglass. A&R's technical perfection is shown in M/Y Excellence III, a 185 foot yacht launched at the end of 2001, won the 2001 Superyacht Award for Best Power Interior. A&R also uses their technological flair for yacht refitting.
