Amels Yachts
launch from Makkum and Schelde, the Netherlands. Amels Holland
started as a 1918 family business for commercial and naval shipbuilding. They
added yacht construction in the early 1980s, and by 1987 Amels had made the
complete transition to producing yachts only. Luxury yachts are native to
Amels's construction, and the yachts measure at least 131 feet in length. The
shipyards are also equipped for yacht refitting, the most notable being the
refit of the motoryacht Nabila for Mr. Donald Trump. Amels Yachts are respected
in the yachting community; the Tigre D'Or won awards from the Superyacht Society
for "Best Power 141 ft+" in 1997 and "Best Power Interior" in 1997 and 1999.
