Goodson & Roberts Yachts
are designed by Bruce Roberts of Brisbane, Australia. Born in Victoria, Australia, Bruce Roberts studied yacht design through the US based Westlawn Institute of Marine Technology. Bruce entered the marine industry and for several years operated a boat yard in Brisbane where he completed a five year informal boatbuilding apprenticeship. In 1966, he founded Bruce Roberts Yacht Design in partnership with Andrew Slorach.
In 1972 Roberts opened his U.S. design office. Bruce has since designed a wide range of sail and powerboats that have been built in fiberglass, steel, aluminum and wood epoxy. Recent projects include a 75ft R/C charter schooner, Voyager 450 R/C steel sailboat (pre-cut steel), Euro 20 m / Waverunner 65 (pre-cut steel ), Trawler 485, Trawler 520, 65 ft wood / epoxy sailboat, especially for wheel-chair bound sailors.
