, part of the Luhrs Marine Group, builds mid-size sportfishing yachts at its St. Augustine, Florida facilities. The company’s history dates back to the 1830’s, when Henry Luhrs started his own boat supply company. His son, also named Henry, continued the tradition by building and repairing boats on the Jersey Coast. A century later, the Henry Luhrs Sea Skiff Company was launched to maintain the legacy with a new production facility in St. Augustine, Florida. The brand continued to grow as the demand for Luhrs boats increased. The St. Augustine facility has since expanded several times and a new facility in Midway, GA was added in 1999 to help meet demand. Today, Luhrs is an employee ownership company, constructing both open express and flybridge convertible yacht models, catering to the needs of sportfishing. The yacht sizes vary from 34 feet to 40 feet for the open express line, and 36 feet to 46 feet for the convertible line. Luhrs offers two tournaments, in the east (Bahamas) and in the west (Florida). In 2012, Luhrs was purchased by MB Marine Industries LLC. Luhrs has become a worldwide icon of fishing and cruising yachts, and has one of the highest brand loyalties in the industry.
