MaresTecnomar Yachts
hail from shipyards in the United States and Italy. Mares, founded by Carlos Ribeiro in 1982 in New Zealand, established a precedent for building power catamarans with a special asymmetrical hull. Today, the Mares power catamarans are built at the Pearson T.P.I. facility in Warren, Rhode Island. The catamarans, constructed using the higher glass-to-resin ratio SCRIMP process, vary in size from 38 feet to 90 feet in length. Tecnomar, originally under the Faliero Sarti Group, has built speed yachts in Italy under Benetti since 1987. Yacht projects under Tecnomar have included sizes such as 65.6 feet, 78.7 feet, and 111.5 feet. Tecnomar features a line of steel displacement yachts that are all over 98 feet long. Speed and comfort are combined in Tecnomar’s smaller sized TB yacht line.
