Maxum Yachts was a subsidiary of the Brunswick Boat Group, a division of the Brunswick Corporation, which manufactured recreational boats. One manufacturing plant was in Pipestone, Minnesota, USA. This facility was established in the 1970s with more than 300 employees. Maxum is most well-known for producing their runabouts. They had another plant located in Salisbury, Maryland, USA with over 200 employees. This plant constructed all Maxum cruisers. Maxum Boats was discontinued in 2009. Some of their models included: (Outboard Powered)160 Bowrider, 170 Bowrider, 180 Bowrider and (Sterndrive Powered) 175 Bowrider, 185 Bowrider, VR5 Bowrider, and VR6 Bowrider. Yacht lengths generally range from 10 metres (33 ft) up to dozens of meters (hundreds of feet). A luxury craft smaller than 12 metres (39 ft) is more commonly called a cabin cruiser or simply a cruiser. A superyacht generally refers to any yacht (sail or power) above 24 m (79 ft) and a megayacht generally refers to any yacht over 50 metres (164 ft).
