began in 1991 as manufacturers of inboard cabin cruiser yachts. The company was centered in Costa Mesa, California. They went out of business in December 1, 2001. Wanda Kipper, owner and President of Pacifica by Kipper Yachts, is the country’s only woman to head a major yacht-building company. Pacifica designed and constructed 36- to 77-foot sportfishing yachts that sell anywhere from $250,000 to $2.5 million each. They catered to what Kipper calls "macho fishermen" who want big, fast powerboats that will take them all the way from Orange County to Cabo San Lucas and back without any problems.
Wanda Kipper began running the business in 1982 when her husband, Stuart, died of cancer. The Kippers had purchased and jointly run the business since 1970.
