Silverton Yachts
was originally a small builder called Silverton Sea Skiffs. John and Warren Luhrs bought the builder in 1969 and incorporated the family techniques in the business, with success. So today, Silverton, in Millville, New Jersey, is part of the Luhrs Marine Group. Silverton is a forerunner in the construction of aft-cabin family cruisers. The lines of yachts built by Silverton are convertibles, motor yachts, and sport bridge. These yachts measure from 35 feet to 51 feet overall in length. Silverton has been innovative in their design of the SideWalk, a flybridge-side molded stairway, and interior designs as well. Silverton hulls have a vinylester barrier coat to alleviate blistering, and a stringer system hand-laminated to the hull with gel coat applied to vastly reduce water penetration.
