St Francis Yachts
was started in 1990 by Duncan Lethbridge. Their cruising catamarans, designed by naval architect Angelo Lavranos, are proven to be safe and fast. In 1988, Lethbridge was a successful real estate developer, builder and sailing champion, when he contracted with naval architect, Angelo Lavranos, to design a cruising catamaran to take his family cruising. The launch of his first St. Francis 43 led to an unprecedented demand for more, which led to the building of a small factory. Today, the factory in South Africa's east coast builds approximately 6 boats per year. Built with quality and attention to detail, many pre-owned St. Francis catamarans have sold for more than their original purchase price. In 2006, Cruising World awarded St. Francis the best cruising catamaran over 60 feet. The St. Francis 50 is the most recent and largest model of catamarans built by St Francis Marine. In every area, the St. Francis 50 continues the tradition of fine styling, craftsmanship and power.
